Driver in Highway 412 Car Accident Dies

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — According to investigators, one woman has died after an afternoon wreck near the Madison and Crockett County line. The victim in the deadly crash has been identified as Misty Gilliland, who is the wife of Crockett County investigator Allan Gilliland. Investigators say she passed away around 4 p.m. at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The crash happened just before 1:45 on Highway 412. According to early reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Misty Gilliland was driving a black SUV that apparently clipped the rear of a truck pulling a dump trailer, which caused the wreck. The driver of the truck was not injured, and the investigation into the crash continues.
