Daughters of the American Revolution Hold Memorial Ceremony

NORTH JACKSON — The local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution paid a special tribute to America’s Fallen Soldiers this Memorial Day. The Jackson-Madison DAR chapter along with VFW 1848 laid a patriotic wreath on the veteran’s memorial wall at Liberty Garden Park. DAR is a group of women who have direct lineage to a revolutionary war patriot. The women say the wreath is their way of keeping american tradition alive. “We realize that if these good men and women did not go to war we wouldn’t be here,” Debbie Bosten, DAR Chaplain said. Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris and the City of Jackson also declared Monday Fallen Heroes Day.
