Humboldt Police Investigate Two Shootings

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Humboldt Police said they’re investigating two shootings that took place Sunday morning. The first shooting was along the intersection of Poplar and 17th Avenue at 4:30 Sunday morning. Officers said they found shell casings in the street before learning a victim had been taken to a local hospital for gunshot wounds. Investigators said the man’s injuries were not life-threatening. He was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Humboldt Police explained the second round of gunfire happened on Gibson Wells Road a short time later. No one was injured in this second shooting, and they also found shell casings on that street. Officers do believe the two shootings are related.
