EAST JACKSON — The man accused of crashing into an East Jackson apartment building last Friday is now suspected in a string of car burglaries in North Jackson in addition to a count of eluding police. Deangelo Travis is charged with auto burglary and theft. Officers say several items were stolen from at least eight vehicles in the Saddlebrook Neighborhood. Items stolen included computers, computer tablets, stereo speakers, GPS, cellular telephone chargers, archery equipment, purses, headphones and power inverters. Jackson Police strongly urge the public to remove valuables and lock their cars to avoid being the victim of an automobile burglary. All of the vehicles were left unlocked by their owners. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected to be presented to the Madison County Grand Jury.
