Jackson man faces sexual battery charge

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson man accused of inappropriately touching his neighbor appeared Monday in court. Walter Townsend allegedly asked his neighbor on Beacon Hill Drive to come into his garage and sit down. According to the report, he then rubbed his neighbor’s knee and continued up to his groin area. When the neighbor stood up, Townsend reportedly grabbed his crotch. Townsend was arrested and is being held on $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 6.
