Ex-wife accused of shooting man three times

STANTONVILLE, Tenn. — A shooting investigation is under way in McNairy County. Officials say a man was shot three times in the abdomen Tuesday morning. As of Tuesday night, he was in stable condition in a Memphis hospital. Officers responded to the home on Tommy Sanders Road, first for a domestic dispute. But when police got there, the man was gone. Officials said when the man returned, his wife, whom he is divorcing, shot him. “I wouldn’t have thought about anything like that happening, but you never know this day and time,” neighbor Ray Milford said. Neighbors said they saw an ambulance take a man out of the house on a stretcher. Officials said domestic calls between the two are nothing new. According to neighbors, the two lived in the home together at one point, but since the divorce began there had been problems. Officials said they are still investigating whether the shots were fired in self-defense.
