EAST JACKSON — The Jackson State Community College employee accused of soliciting sex from a minor has resigned from his position. Tracy Morton met with the HR department at JSCC Tuesday night and turned in his resignation, according to John McCommon, marketing and public relations coordinator at the school. Morton had been employed as the school’s veterans affairs director. Police say during an undercover operation last Friday, Morton approached an officer posed as an underage boy and made plans to go with him to another location, where he was later arrested. Morton is charged with solicitation of aggravated statutory rape.
