WEST JACKSON — A local preschool got a hands-on lesson in business Thursday. Students at Hands Up! Preschool started an old-fashioned lemonade stand. A total of 67 students sold lemonade as part of a classroom activity designed to help them learn about earning, saving and spending money. The students even helped set the price and serve the customers. “They have learned a lot about recipes,” said Donna Agnew, director of the preschool. “We talked about critical thinking, what could you put in lemonade, kind of using their brains in that way, but also just their people skills.” The money from the lemonade stand will buy new classroom supplies. Students will vote on what supplies they want.
