Bow hunting season starts Saturday

EAST MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Bow hunting season in Tennessee starts Saturday morning, and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officials have a few tips before gearing up. Their first reminder — make sure paperwork is in order as far as licensing goes, or risk hefty fines. “It generally can run anywhere from $200 to roughly around $400 just for not having the proper licensing,” Capt. Buddy Brien said. Brien also says to make sure to get your licensing information from the TWRA. Wildlife officers also say the most common safety hazard their agents see is unsafe hunting stands in trees. “We investigate tree-stand accidents every year,” Brien said. “We would suggest people wear a safety harness when they get up.”
