Jackson police seek leads in overnight shooting

WEST JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating an overnight shooting that sent one man to the hospital. Police were notified of a shooting around 12:15 a.m. Monday and found the 43-year-old victim lying on Hatton Street with abrasions to his face and a gunshot wound to his thigh. He told police he had been beaten by several men and shot in the thigh but would not give a description of the suspects. The man was transported by ambulance to Jackson”Madison County General Hospital. Officers said his injuries are non-life threatening.
