‘Remember Me’ walk reflects on victims of violence
WEST JACKSON — Families of homicide victims came together Monday evening to share their stories and remember the lives lost to violence in the city of Jackson. Residents came out to Union University to take part in the “Remember Me” walk, where homicide victims’ families walk through candlelight in memory of lost loved ones. Following the walk around Union’s clock tower, families gathered and released balloons while shouting the names of their lost loved ones. Organizers said this a good way to remember and celebrate the lives lost to violence. “We never stop loving those that we have lost. We always want to remember who they are, remember what they meant to us, and we always want to celebrate their life,” said Rachel Hill, organizer of the walk. This was the seventh year for the event.
