Sheriff: Man shot by estranged wife released from hospital

McNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — The McNairy County man shot by his estranged wife last week has been released from the hospital, according to Sheriff Guy Buck. Jeffery Carrol faces charges of kidnapping, domestic assault, burglary and vandalism.The sheriff said he has not been formally charged in court because he cannot stand on his own. Buck said he knows where Carrol is and says he will be arrested when he is in better physical condition. Investigators said his wife acted in self-defense and will not be charged.
