Police say man is Walmart shoplifter in security footage

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man police say loaded a shopping cart with merchandise at a department store and left without paying was in court Thursday. Daniel Jarod Hutch is charged with theft of property over $500 after police say he stole merchandise valued at more than $800 from the South Jackson Walmart, according to court documents. Hutch is believed to be the man captured by security cameras taking a cart filled with merchandise out of the store. Hutch was ordered not to enter Walmart after pleading guilty in May to shoplifting from the Walmart on Emporium Drive, the report states. Hutch is being held on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 23 for a preliminary hearing.
