Time is here for seasonal job opportunities in Jackson
WEST JACKSON — October kicks off the beginning of seasonal jobs opening up for the holidays, and the local career center tells us there are a lot of positions opening in Jackson. Retail giants such as Target and Walmart plan to beat the rush and start the hiring process now. A local official says the key to snagging a job for the holiday season is to have an open schedule. “They’re looking for people that are available to work nights and weekends that they’re needing an increase for the holiday season, so really people have to be flexible,” said Mark Chandler, West Tennessee Regional Director for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Experts say the outlook nationwide for holiday hiring is relatively bright. An annual survey says employers are set to potentially add 800,000 workers to payrolls across the country.
