DOWNTOWN JACKSON — West Tennessee students got to have a little fun in the kitchen Monday afternoon while learning about nutrition. A fun-filled cooking demonstration hosted by Lift Wellness Center taught kids how easy it is to make nutritional snacks. Kids played a part in making healthful cookie bars to mimic finger foods. But the main goal was molding health habits. “They are moldable at such a young age,” said Nicole Hancock with Lift Wellness Center. “The moment you start to get into your twenties and thirties and your forties, all of a sudden you’ve created these nasty habits that are very difficult to get away from.” The event is part of Child Health Week across the state, with the official theme “a healthy Tennessee begins with a health me.” Child Health Week continues through Oct. 12.
