Small Carroll Co. fire department gets big upgrade

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — A fire department in Carroll County unveiled their newly renovated fire station Sunday. The Terry Fire Department had an open house with a free fish fry for local supporters. The fire crew showed off their brand-new floors, counter tops and freshly painted walls. All renovations came from donations and the pockets of the firefighters. Richie Matthews, one of the firefighters, said more than 20 firefighters, family members and volunteers worked on the building for more than two months. “It means a whole lot,” Matthews said. “To be a part of something that everyone gets so involved in. I’ve been on this department 9 years, and this is the most I’ve seen involved in it since I’ve been on it.” The station also displayed their new squad truck donated by the Carroll County Fire Committee.
