Man accused of inappropriately touching officer appears in court

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man accused of grabbing an undercover police officer’s genitals was in court Tuesday. Howard Williamson III is charged with sexual battery after police say he touched the officer during an undercover prostitution operation, according to court documents. Williamson entered the undercover vehicle at the corner of Lambuth Boulevard and Airways Boulevard where he agreed to give oral sex to the undercover officer but would not discuss money, the report states. When the undercover officer refused to expose himself, Williamson then grabbed the man’s genitals, the report also states. Williamson is being held on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 16 for a preliminary hearing.
