Second case of enterovirus confirmed in West Tenn.

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A second case of enterovirus has been confirmed in West Tennessee. Shelby County health officials confirmed a child is being treated at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital for enterovirus D-68. No further details have been released about the patient’s condition. Last month, the Henry County Medical Center confirmed they treated a child with enterovirus but could not confirm it was the D-68 strand because tests were not conducted to make the determination.
