TN Scottish Festival brings in the clans

JACKSON, Tenn. — Saturday, West Tennesseans attended the annual Scottish Festival at the Casey Jones Village in Jackson. Members of Scottish Clans came out to represent their roots as well as community members. Despite the weather, people still got to watch dances, listen to music, and shop for Scottish apparel. Event Organizers like Lisa Robertson Melendez said it’s important for people to recognize and appreciate their heritage. “We have a group of very dedicated people of Scottish decent that are working very hard to make this a success, to bring people from all over of Scottish decent and just friends in general to come and share in our heritage,” Melendez said. The event continues Sunday from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.
