Man accused of assault, breaking vehicle windows with bike

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man accused of using a child’s bicycle to break a car window to get to his children’s mother is charged with domestic assault. Officers say Martin Mitchell first tried to strangle the woman and punched her as he sat in the car with her. When he got out of the vehicle, officers say he used a child’s bicycle to break the car’s windows. Mitchell remains jailed in lieu of $10,000 bond on counts of aggravated domestic assault and vandalism. He is scheduled to be back in court at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 20.
