Man accused of threatening girlfriend with saw

WEST JACKSON — A man is charged with domestic assault after court documents state he threatened his girlfriend with a handsaw. Last Friday, the victim told officers she and her boyfriend, Scotty Mitchell, got into an argument. During the argument, Mitchell allegedly punched his girlfriend in face and head. Court papers state he then picked up a handsaw and said “I will hit you with this.” Mitchell is charged with aggravated domestic assault and is being held in lieu of $7,500 bond. He is scheduled to be back in court Oct. 27.
