Alexander to host financial aid round table
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander is hosting a round table in Knoxville to discuss reforming financial aid.
The event will be held Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at Pellissippi State Community College.
Alexander has a proposal to simplify the process of applying for and receiving federal financial aid to help pay for college.
In June, the Tennessee Republican proposed the Financial Aid Simplification and Transparency Act that would simplify the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from a 108-question form to a two-question postcard.
