Hunter’s sharing havest, helping hungry communities

MILAN, Tenn. — Hunters throughout West Tennessee are sharing their harvest. An annual fundraising banquet to help pay for deer processing for deer meat distributed to local food banks in the community was held Tuesday evening in Milan. There was a barbecue dinner, a live auction and a silent auction to help raise funds. Organizers said it is a great way to enjoy hunting while helping those in need. “There are needy families in our communities,” said Jay Black, president of Hunters Sharing the Harvest. “A lot of times that’s overlooked. People just don’t want to see it, but it’s there and we are trying to do something about it.” This was the sixth year for the event.
