Jackson house fire being investigated as suspicious

EAST JACKSON — A Thursday morning house fire near downtown in East Jackson is being investigated as suspicious, according to the Jackson Police Department. This is the third suspicious fire in Jackson in less than a week. The fire was reported just after 10 a.m. at what is believed to be a vacant house on Stoddert Street. Smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the wood-frame home. The fire is under investigation.
