“Relay Goes to Hollywood” in the fight against cancer

JACKSON, Tenn.-Relay for Life Madison County kicked off its 2015 campaign Thursday evening and this year, there is a theme… “Relay Goes to Hollywood”. The kick off event was held at Miss Ollie’s in Downtown Jackson. Everyone dressed up “to the nines” for the red carpet event. Organizers said it is a fun way to kick off the year while trying to finally find a cure for cancer. “We are looking to finish this fight against cancer, we have made a lot of big strides this year so we are making a lot of progress,” said Jerry Gay, chairman for Relay for Life. Madison County is the top fundraising ‘relay’ in the state of Tennessee and over the past 19 years has raised more than $5 million for the American Cancer Society.
