Three charged in Old Medina Winery fire appear in court

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The three people charged in the alleged arson that destroyed the Old Medina Winery appeared Monday in court. Nicholas Beecher, 24, Derek A. Burgess, 25, and Kristen M. Emison, 21, all of Jackson, were charged in the alleged break-in, vandalism and arson that led to what officials count as $300,000 worth of damages. The charges include two counts of burglary, one count of vandalism and one count of arson. The Oct. 18 fire was ruled an arson last week. Beecher, Burgess and Emison remain jailed in lieu of $80,000 bond.
