NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. — The calendar may say it’s near the end of October but the weekend weather told a different story. It felt more like August with temperatures in the 80’s. “It’s still pretty hot,” said Will Caldwell. “We’ve had a good mixture of weather, I’d say.” Sunday, Jackson neared a record high. The temperature reached 86 degrees, just one degree shy of the record set in 2004. West Tennesseans took advantage of the summer-like weather. Parks and playgrounds across the area were packed. Forecasters say fall will return soon. Throughout the week, temperatures will continue to fall.
