NORTH JACKSON — Some Jackson residents found Monday they were not in Kansas anymore. Monday evening, Jackson Oaks brought out Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man in celebration of the annual Wizard of Oz Extravaganza. One organizer said this is one of their favorite times of year. “They can’t go out and see their grandchildren, great grandchildren trick-or-treat or go to all the trunk or treats they have out right now,” said Jill Joiner, event organizer. “A lot of them aren’t able to get out, so we wanted to bring it to them and do something fun for them to enjoy with their families.” Residents and organizers said they look forward to doing it all again next year.
