Fire on I-40 Causes Delays
HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn — An 18-wheeler caught fire late Sunday morning, and stopped traffic on westbound Interstate 40 near mile marker 47. Around 9:30 Sunday night, the truck was reported to have caught fire again, and had started a grass fire in the median. Witnesses told the WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Team that the fire looked like it totally consumed the cab of the 18-wheeler, and backed up traffic for at least a mile. The Memphis bereau of Tennessee said the fire was still under investigation.
