JACKSON, Tenn. — a local fraternity hit the streets of Jackson Sunday with a mission of feeding the hungry. Union University’s Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity chapter is collecting cans this week in brown bags. The fraternity men dropped off brown bags on doorsteps in various neighborhoods. They will make their way back to the neighborhoods on Thursday and pick up the bags filled up with cans by the community. Fraternity members said it’s a great opportunity to reach out the community. “They’ll have a bag on their front door, and hopefully they’ll fill it up,” Lambda Chi Alpha Vice President Cameron Faulk said. All cans and nonperishable food items will be going to RIFA.
