Former SEC quarterback James Franklin speaks at JCS
NORTH JACKSON — Students at Jackson Christian School got a visit Friday from a former SEC starting quarterback. James Franklin, formerly of the Missouri Tigers, spoke to middle and high school students. Franklin encouraged them to stay dedicated to their goals and their faith. He said when talking to groups, he hopes he can help encourage teens to do things the right way. “Maybe I can plant a seed in one, two of them,” Franklin said. “Eventually, hopefully, that seed will grow, and that’s all I’m looking for is at least one.” Franklin answered students’ questions about his career, life and faith. After being cut by the Detroit Lions this fall, Franklin says he is still pursuing his dream of playing in the NFL.
