BRUCETON, Tenn.–The Bruceton Fire Department is holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to help rebuild their fire station. Two months after a fire destroyed the Bruceton Fire Department, Assistant Fire Chief Shannon Sloan says there is still a long way to go in the rebuilding process. Sloan says even though the equipment was damaged, they have had no issues with being able to serve residents. Equipment donations from across the state poured in after the blaze, including a van, turnout gear and air tanks. The city’s insurance company estimates more than $300,000 in repairs from the fire damages. Sloan says the department would like to eventually build a new facility that could also function as a community center. He says it would make it easier for voting as the station is typically turned into a polling place and could be rented for weddings, birthday parties and reunions. The spaghetti dinner will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Bruceton High School. Each meal is $7.50 and includes a homemade dessert.
