MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Madison County commissioners approved a rezoning plan Monday to allow Milan Express to expand in East Madison County. The land at Highway 412 East and U.S. Highway 70 East was rezoned to manufacturing and warehousing. Some residents who call the area home raised concerns about the rezoning, but those seeking the change said they will take their thoughts into consideration. “The concerns of neighbors is important to us,” said Director of Planning Stan Pilant. “We want to make sure that they are protected, and we review the development plan as it comes through the permitting process and make sure that there’s no impact that would affect them negatively.” Officials also say the rezoning would allow for more commercial development in the future.
