MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The THP warns drivers about the deer population this time of year. Troopers said it’s not just at night these animals can come out onto the road. Officials explained a deer can come out of the woods at any time. While there’s no way to guarantee not having to deal with roadkill, troopers said the main thing drivers need to do is simply slow down when one is in sight. “This time of year, you’re gonna see a lot of animals you’re not used to seeing – especially late afternoon, early morning, this time of year. You’re liable to see one at noon, midday, they’re running wide,” Lt. Brad Wilbanks said. Troopers said there are no specific areas to watch out for. They can be anywhere from neighborhoods to interstates.
