“Santa Paws” trees to benefit some shelter animals

JACKSON, Tenn.–‘Tis the season for tree trimming and giving, which is what volunteer run animal rescue Beyond Bars Animal Rescue hopes people will do with it’s “Santa Paws” Christmas trees. The white trees are decorated with green and teal ornaments and have snowflakes with the names and needs of the animals the rescue is currently housing,” we chose snowflakes because just like snowflakes, no two animals are alike,” Whitney Owen, President of BBAR said. Owen said items on the animal wish-list include heavy duty toys like a kong, peanut butter, wood shavings, and blankets. Staff said monetary donations are also accepted and can be used to cover specific medical needs, and overhead cost for the shelter. Trees are located in Jackson and Milan. Specific locations include: Deming Veterinary Service,Tractor Supply Company, Tail Wagger’z, Beyond Bars Animal Rescue and Back in the Saddle Again.
