Jackson man in court accused of assaulting ex-girlfriend

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson man faced a judge Tuesday on accusations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. James Hayes Jr. is charged with simple domestic assault after the woman told police he shoved her to the ground Monday when she went to his Lambuth Boulevard apartment to get some of her belongings, according to court documents. She also told police Hayes pulled out part of her hair weave and also broke a necklace she was wearing, the documents state. Hayes was issued a $1,000 bond and a no-contact order.
