Jackson man charged with assaulting girlfriend during argument

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man was in Jackson court Thursday accused of assaulting his girlfriend during an argument over something she found in his phone. Quindarrius Pitchford is charged with aggravated domestic assault, according to court documents. Police say they talked to Pitchford’s girlfriend after responding to a domestic disturbance report Wednesday on North Royal Street. The woman allegedly told police she and Pitchford were arguing over something she found in his cell phone when Pitchford assaulted her, according to the documents. She allegedly told police Pitchford struck her in the face several times with his open hand and also strangled her, documents state. Pitchford was taken into custody at his Bennett Street residence, according to the documents.
