JMC Library holds community holiday party

JACKSON, Tenn.-In north Jackson Wednesday, a special holiday lunch was given to some less fortunate residents of Jackson. The Jackson-Madison County Library’s “Community Holiday Party” was held for many of the residents that often call the library a “safe haven” from the cold. Library officials handed out groceries, gave out door prizes, played games with the visitors, and of course, fed them a nice holiday meal. “We just wanted to show them we do care so that its not just a handout, it’s just fun,” said Dinah Harris, executive director of the Jackson-Madison County Library. Library officials said they hope get-togethers like this can become a new routine.
