TN Child Services holds Christmas party, gives gifts to area kids

JACKSON, Tenn.-Hosting the Southwest District’s annual Christmas party Friday, the Tennessee Child Services Department gave their own Christmas contribution. More than $5,000 in gift cards were purchased in advance for the event, where officials met at a west Jackson church to hand out the presents to the kids. “We want the children that we came in contact with to feel like somebody cared about them and they are not being left out, said Guy Hendree, a DCS advisor. 300 children in 11 different Tennessee counties were represented at the event, and were given toys from local charities.
