Woman in Jackson court accused of assaulting pregnant woman with SUV

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman was in Jackson City Court Monday accused of assaulting a pregnant woman with her vehicle. Nickkisha Phillips is charged with aggravated assault after police say she was leaving a parking lot Thursday when the alleged victim walked in front of her GMC Envoy. When the woman, who is 29 weeks pregnant, walked in front of Phillips’ SUV, which was stopped in a line of traffic, Phillips allegedly revved the engine three times and hit the woman in the thigh, hip and stomach, according to court documents. The incident was caught on camera and appeared to match the victim’s account of what happened, police say. Phillips is free on $5,000 bond.
