JACKSON, Tenn. — The storks have landed, and it’s a girl! The first baby born in the new year here in Jackson made her way into the world at 12:49 Thursday morning. Madilynn Nicole Herron weighs just more than six pounds and is 18 inches long. The family says they weren’t expecting her until the third but are thrilled to bring in the new year with their new addition. Tierra Burks says there couldn’t be a better way to start 2015 than with her new daughter. “It’s an exciting feeling, exciting,” Burks said. “She’s precious.” The family also was presented bags of goodies from local radio station Froggy 104.1.
