Park waives fitness center fee for workout effort
CADIZ, Ky. (AP) – Lake Barkley State Resort Park is opening the doors to its fitness center to allow guests to take part in an effort to set a record for the world’s largest simultaneous group workout on Saturday.
The Kentucky Parks Department says nutrition company ViSalus is sponsoring the effort and will give 30 meals to an initiative to fight obesity for every participant.
The park’s fitness center will waive admission on Saturday for the event. Sign in starts at 11:15 a.m. CST, with a one-hour workout scheduled to start at noon.
Lake Barkley is located at Cadiz in southwestern Kentucky. It is next to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area on the Kentucky-Tennessee line.
