JACKSON, Tenn. — Low gas prices aren’t just proving good for the consumer — they’re proving good for the car salesman as well. Both GM and Fiat-Chrysler saw double-digit sales increases last month, while Ford saw a slight increase. Experts say lower gas prices, a stronger economy and easier access to car loans are bringing people back to showrooms. Analysts predict auto sales should continue to grow this year. “That has made a big difference in floor traffic, especially so you know when gas prices drop of course the traffic went up because people can afford to spend a little more then,” said William Bond, sales consultant at Alan Vines Automotive in Jackson. Gas experts expect the low prices to continue through this year.
