JACKSON, Tenn. — Before Friday evening’s ceremony, the organizers of Jackson-Madison County’s Blue Strong day showed their appreciation for local officers with food. Blue Strong volunteers along with several local churches brought trays of food to feed deputies, troopers and police officers. The volunteers say this is just a small gesture for those in law enforcement who risk their lives every day. “They mean a lot to us and we appreciate them, and I feel as though I need to give back to them,” Blue Strong volunteer Macayla Dabbs said. The officers we spoke with said they appreciate all the kindness they’ve been shown and that they’re humbled by the amount of support.
