DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman was formally charged with assault Monday on accusations of attacking an employee in a retail store. Alicia Mull faces two counts of simple assault in a Dec. 12 incident in which a Kmart employee told police Mull attacked her while she was at work. The woman said she was bending over in the toy department when Mull came running toward her and attacked her, hitting her with her fists in the face and body, according to an affidavit. When another employee tried to pull Mull away, Mull knocked her back into the shelves and began hitting the first victim again, the document states. The victim told police she knows Mull and thinks the attack stemmed from a previous incident at a grocery store where Mull thought the victim cut in front of her while shopping and “told her she would get her,” according to the affidavit. Mull is free on a $1,000 bond.
