NORTH JACKSON — Potential employees poured into a local hotel Thursday looking for work. Goodwill and Vista Host put on a job fair at the Residence Inn in north Jackson. Goodwill says Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn and the Hampton Inn and Suites need to fill about 20 positions. A career counselor says they saw almost 90 people in the first hour and a half of the fair. “It shows people that there are jobs out there available,” Goodwill career counselor Casey Coatney said. “It helps you practice your interviewing skills and getting back out there, because sometimes just getting yourself out there is the biggest challenge.” Goodwill says more than 200 people participated. However, no jobs were offered, which means there are still positions open ranging from guest services to room attendants and general manager. Go to Jackson Goodwill Career Solutions to apply.
