DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A special prayer spot was dedicated Friday to local law enforcement. Following last week’s Blue Strong dedication, members of the Highland Park Baptist Church built a portable prayer spot in downtown Jackson with material donated by other local churches. The coordinator says the prayer spot is available for everyone, regardless of your faith. “Prayer works. We believe in prayer, and when we all pray together — regardless of what background we come from or what program we’re a part of or where we work in the community that we all are living here together,” prayer vigil coordinator Tasha Hart said. A closing ceremony will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.
