TRENTON, Tenn. – Peabody senior Grant McEwen got a head start on National Signing Day (Feb. 4). The lineman signed his official letter of intent to join the University of Cumberland on Monday morning. “Cumberland just felt like it was home. Coaches just felt like here at Peabody. Teammates just felt like mine,” said McEwen. Cumberland wasn’t the only school the recruiting the Golden Tide senior. The University of Memphis also had interest. “I don’t know if I would fit in their program,” said McEwen about the Tigers. “I think I can make an impact at Cumberland next year.” McEwen’s head coach agrees. “He’ll be a success in whatever he does,” said Peabody head coach Ricky Woods. McEwen helped Peabody win their first football state championship. He’s undecided on what he’ll major in at Cumberland.
