JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department will now keep its own evidence from drug cases as opposed to letting the sheriff’s office house it. The city council approved $8,500 Tuesday morning to renovate a room in the police department specifically for drugs and drug-related evidence. Previously, the materials were maintained by the metro narcotics office.
