JACKSON, Tenn. — Thursday marked seven years since an EF4 tornado hit West Tennessee, ravaging parts of Jackson’s Union University. Among the hardest hit areas were the student dorms and commons area, pinning one student for hours before his rescue. That storm claimed 23 lives across Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee and injured countless others. It also was the last tornado on record to actually hit the Jackson area.
